If you decide on a Shilen and the first few groups look like a shotgun load, don't give up on it. I had a 300 WSM Shilen that wouldn't group under 1 1/2" for the first 80 or so shots so I took it back to Mark Brown at Brown Precision. He inspected it and said he couldn't find anything wrong with the barrel so I took it back and shot it some more. At about the 125 round total groups now averaged under 1 1/4" so I continued to shoot it more. From about 200 + rounds, it got under an inch and after 300 rounds I was getting a lot of 1/2" five shot groups and all groups stayed under 3/4". I didn't expect this from a Match, frozen barrel, but it happens!!
