I got the 375 cases necked to 7mm just fine, but when I fire formed them, they cracked at the shoulder. It's a lot of taper to blow out at the shoulder. Maybe if I had annealed them, it might have worked. I don't know. That was 40 years ago. Tony

Back when the 7STW first came out, there was no brass available either. I had to buy factory loaded 8mm Mag ammunition, pull the bullets, resize to 7mm and load. I tried forming them from 375 H&H brass, but I could not get it to work without cracking the case. Tony

I guess they need to keep all that Red Dot, Promo, Clay Dot, Green Dot, etc for military trap/skeet shooting. Tony

The 38 Casull is very similar to a 451 Detonics Magnum case necked to 9mm. Which is about the same as a 9mm Super, ie 40 Super necked to 9mm. It's predecessor was the 38/45 Clerke which was based on a standard length 45 ACP case. I actually have one of those too. Tony

I have 9x21, 9x23, 9x25 Dillon, and 400 Corbon.....I just don't consider them very odd ball. I also forgot to mention 9mm Super/38 Casull. I have one of those too. Tony

If you used a crush washer with your brake, that could have contributed to the problem since those washers don't crush square. Your barrel thread probably has a relief cut at the back of the thread that will allow the washer to drop into the groove and sit way off center as it's crushed. If...

Oh yeah, many times. I have a full reloading setup for the Winchester 401 Self Loader.....just looking for a rifle without a cracked stock/forend. I'm starting to think that might be a lost cause. Tony

I've got a 22" 30 Nosler gas gun, 3035fps with a 180 Accubond, 85gr of Retumbo. 125gr Accubond @ 3510fps 92gr of Retumbo. Obviously not the kind of bullets you plan to shoot though............ Tony

Holy smokes......I'll bet that load was a bit over 65k psi. It would be pretty tough to blow up a Ruger #1 though. I shoot my factory chambered 450 Nitro Express Ruger #1 with 300's running 3050fps, and 500's a bit over 2400fps. At 7.5 pounds, it will knock you into next week. Tony
