I usually would as well. But the areas we intend to use this rifle will rarely of ever have a shot under 150 yards. We are hunting a large river bottom.

Which scope would you guys choose for a 0-500 deer rifle. Going on a new 257 Weatherby apex.

Very lightly used Athlon Ares Gen 2 4.5-27 with FFP illuminated reticule. Scope was hunted with for one season on my muzzleloader. I can't find any marks on it anywhere. The scope is very nice, only selling to go back to SFP on all my scopes. Asking $750.
