    I am a 25 fan and started my son with a bob while I shot the 06. While similar I agree and for short range I’d take my 25-06 over a 6.5 any day. The BC is where the 6.5 seems to excel. Never understood where the 6mm and 6.5 have such good BC but they can’t make a 110-120 .257 that has decent BC...

    I have been using RL26 in my 25-06 with 115 Bergers at 3250 it got up to 3340 but the accuracy is a dime at 3250 range and that seems fast enough for anything I’ll need. Have not used ttsx in the 06 but have with others and was going to use them in a 257 bob I have

    Low recoil deer caliber

    My son has shot a 257 Robert’s since he was 7 and it works great. He will use his 308 this year at 10. 243, 6cm, 6.5cm 7mm08, 25-06, 308, 6.5cm Just deer any of those would work. If you reload you have even more options. Not sure about up North there but I feel around here and in my travels...
