    Big male down.

I don't , I love it have killed out to 300 yards, see groundhogs shot ,9 this week one at 300 yards, can be wind sensitive but one can compensate . Have in three years killed upwards of 300 groundhogs and close to 100 coyotes, way better performer than the 22 hornet, that I sold to a member here...

First day out yesterday on groundhogs saw about 18 to 20 shot at 10 dropped 9DRT,one miss when a strong wind gust threw the little 20 grain 17 off course. Every one was dropped DRT,no crawl offs, although one slid back in his burrow a foot after being hit. Closest shot was 155 ,furthest 275 see...

    Bear protection handguns?

I still shudder thinking how I wasn't even phased under gunfire, and fleeting thoughts of my family and training is all I remember, and how ****ed off we were that some dirtbag fired upon us, he got life in the big house 32 years old ,three years ago.

    Bear protection handguns?

Sounds great but I pose one question how many can remain composed under high stress, been in two gunfights ,cruiser struck 4 times ,my partners and myself went towards the threat and ultimately won, a bear is nothing, especially when a 3in 000 buck slams his noggin, very hard to miss, 50 yards from...

Interesting article on bear spray vs. bear handgun defense

I've seen more humans killed with a 22 in 25 years as a cop and counting than any other caliber, usually only a single shot, 50% body, 50% head shots is a fair guess.

    Polar bear defensive handgun

I'm about done with this bear thread, as most posting will never see one except in a zoo, ya'll can keep your handguns as most in a fast furious surprise attack will be useless, the element of surprise will kill you, something that will never happen in my case as the guard dog can't be surprised...

    Polar bear defensive handgun

Three inch 12 ga 000 buck will do more than birdshot, that's my first shot with the Mossberg Maverick 88 top folding shotgun, the next shot will drop any land mammal on the planet,666 grain Brenneke magnum crush,12 years hiking, 10 grizzlies seen one at 50 yards no grizzlies, dogs or humans...

Fine tuned the 17 hornet yesterday.

Reading the wind, sighting the rifle in to perfection and knowing where the bullet hits at the distances encountered makes for success. My cheat sheet is under the buttstock cover, and a rangefinder is 100% required. Even at 300 yards the devastation is incredible.
