    Historical long range shooters.

I've read that story multiple times and believe it to be true. He was reputed to be an incredible shot and hunter. He killed hundreds of elephants with brain shots from that rifle. Of course that would never happen in today's world as the elephant populations are being decimated by humans...

Recap of the URSA 3000 Yard Challenge (2024)

Looks like the range is just a bit east of Sacramento California. Image that... LOL https://www.unlimitedrange.org/gallery.html I would have guessed Wyoming, Arizona, Utah Montana... Never California. I was amazed that the winners were shooting Hornady A-Tip bullets. I would have suspected...

What gun would you want if the SHTF?

This is a very well thought out and sustainable plan....

    There’s something about a .308 Win and 168 SMKs

Likewise... 43.5gr of Varget has been my sweet spot for quite some time. I usually don't mess with success...

    Airguns Only: Some Florida Hunting

So are you cruising around in a boat and shooting them in the vegetation and trees on the shoreline? How many do you typically get in a day?

    There’s something about a .308 Win and 168 SMKs

I have a Model 700 LTR that I had skim bedded and trigger work done and I mounted an NXS 5,5-22x56 scope on and it shoots 168SMKs so accurately that it's hard to believe. I once shot an 10 shot group under .3" at 100yds with it and have shot several 3 and 5 shot groups under .2". At 200 and...

What is the most overbore cartridge YOU HAVE USED?

I had a 30-378 Weatherby that was a lot of fun. It easily printed inside of .6" at 100yds with Nosler 180gr BT's. I don't remember the FPS those bullets left the barrel at but it was crazy. Used it as a target and prairie dog rifle and never shot it at a game animal but would have had to use...

    Is this RUST!?

That much fouling at the muzzle from one factory test fire? I don't think so.... I think you bought a rifle that was returned for some reason. I'd return it and demand a truly new rifle.

    10mm handgun

No problem... We all make mistakes... On the subject of S&W 357magnum handguns I have a 6" S&W Model 66 and it's my absolute favorite revolver to shoot. I have custom grips on it and night sights and a friend worked the trigger for me but other than that it's box stock and with any load from...

    10mm handgun

Yeah... As far as I know the 629 only comes in 44magnum and a quick google confirmed it but then sometimes there are exceptions to almost any rule.

    Improving the 308 Win performance

Were you able to get reasonable accuracy out of bullets that light? I never have but then some of the newer bullets made these days may be a lot better.

    Beautiful blacky

You know... I've been hunting over 60 years and still get the flutters in my gut when I get a hard won shot at a animal, especially if it's a special one like your black wolf. I don't regret misses caused by that. I celebrate that I'm still able to experience that excitement and adrenaline rush...

Trying to get smart boar hog

I'd never heard of a Figure 6 trap mentioned earlier in this thread but YouTube is my friend... LOL Figure 6 Trap

    55gr vs 77gr 5.56

That was precisely my logic when I bought my Mustang... LOL Not to totally hijack the thread though.... I bought my 6.5 Grendel AR specifically to hunt with. I love my 223 AR but mostly for small varmints and cheap target practice... The Grendel is the best compromise in recoil and weight...
