Yeah... As far as I know the 629 only comes in 44magnum and a quick google confirmed it but then sometimes there are exceptions to almost any rule.

Were you able to get reasonable accuracy out of bullets that light? I never have but then some of the newer bullets made these days may be a lot better.

You know... I've been hunting over 60 years and still get the flutters in my gut when I get a hard won shot at a animal, especially if it's a special one like your black wolf. I don't regret misses caused by that. I celebrate that I'm still able to experience that excitement and adrenaline rush...

That was precisely my logic when I bought my Mustang... LOL Not to totally hijack the thread though.... I bought my 6.5 Grendel AR specifically to hunt with. I love my 223 AR but mostly for small varmints and cheap target practice... The Grendel is the best compromise in recoil and weight...
