    BL-C (2) in .308 Win - What the heck???

No, it is not "whack". You just have to understand how to load compressed charges. It is a long understood and used practice in reloading.

    BL-C (2) in .308 Win - What the heck???

Hmm, seems like a lot of guys have never loaded or understand compressed charge reloading? Many cases with certain powders require compression to reach best potential. Some more than others, but it is no big deal. There are numerous sections in various reloading manuals, Youtube vids, magazines...

    BL-C (2) in .308 Win - What the heck???

Compressed charges for some cases and powders are not unusual. That is what drop tubes and various vibrators are for, i.e electric tooth brush, electric razor, top of brass vibrating polisher, etc, etc. You will notice there are 7 compressed (c) charges on that data page. Always start at the...

Alliant Powders suspends sales of reloading powders

Hey, I already know about black bird pie and squirrel everything. As an old boy growing up on a poor, small Southern farm/ranch with parents from the 20-30's depression and WWII, most any meat source was used. Actually as a youth, I hunted a lot of black birds with everything from BB guns...

    Highest Rate of Fire Ever?

I came across the video one day, and I found it rather interesting from the viewpoint of attempting to set the record for the highest rate of fire for any single barreled gun. In this case, an airgun, and the somewhat unique engineering approach taken.

Alliant Powders suspends sales of reloading powders

Often, I am stunned at how many people do not understand this and in numerous items. The US has outsourced so much manufacturing to China and elsewhere, we will see shortages in most everything. Imagine WWII type of rationing and shortages in today's US.

    Longest successful shot

Several. On the 1,000yd targets, I've used 223 fast twist, 22/250 and AI fast twist, 243, 6mmAI, 25-06, 260 AI, 300RUM etc, and on the 1 mile targets, I've used 22/250 AI fast twist, 6mm varieties, 300RUM, 338's, and the 2,000 yd was 300 RUM and 338's. Edit: Forgot my 308's, as we shot a lot of...

Alliant Powders suspends sales of reloading powders

Like so many things these days, the majority is manufactured in China, and they are shipping the majority to the Russian war effort. Allies and all that. That's the problem when a nation exports its manufacturing base to other countries, especially ones who may become, or are, your enemies...

Quarter bore fans; opinions wanted, what would you do?

Kinda' went down this path decades ago, but instead of chambering for 257Wby, since back then, I did not like the double radius shoulder and I had a lot of 7mmRM brass on hand, I went with a 25-7mmRM. Similar performance to the 257Wby in same 1/10" twist. Going with ever larger case capacity...

    Longest successful shot

Several at one mile on 19x19" and 24x24", and the longest I have shot is 2,000yds on 24x24" and 30x36" We shoot a lot of 1,000yd on 10" circle plates.

    Favorite uncommon calibers

You sound like my deceased brother, for he was a devout 16ga guy for birds and small game. Though he preferred his Rem 1100's. He must have taken up that gauge from our dad's love of an old 16ga single barrel, and I have to admit, as a youth, I owned a 16ga single Winchester 37A for a few years.

Whats your favorite hunting rig as in truck ?

My 1997 F150 4x4. It has 217K miles, leaks a little oil until warm, has a few character marks from years of Rocky Mtn and other states' trails, but keeps on going. It goes places I would never want to put a newer truck.
