    ELDX

As far as ELDX bullets. I am shooting them daily; hogs, deer, targets. NO COMPLAINTS! They kill everything I point them at. Shooting 143gr - 6.5. Great bullet at ranges from 50 yds to 500 yds.

    Motivation for ML hunting restrictions

Another example of a dept not knowing anything about what they are trying to do. Better to have the best possible, most efficient means of harvesting any game animal. it is not to make it harder for the hunter, but easier that the harvest is more complete. STUPID...

Reloading- What pressure signs do you stop at?

Stiff bolt lift and loose primer pockets are a dead giveaway alright. A dead giveaway of way excess pressure.

Reloading- What pressure signs do you stop at?

Dean2; It's scary to me to hear of all the guys who use stress signs as limit factors. Stress signs, as you say come way above max., no matter what the book says, too much is too much and you are not only taking a chance with your eyes of even your life, but you rifles are taking beating too...

Reloading- What pressure signs do you stop at?

I think the absolute best method for safely working up loads is to use a chronograph from the start. Check each progressive load. If increases are consistent then speed should be also. When you hit a different result. STOP! You just passed the sweet spot. Been doing this for 30 years now, it...

Reloading- What pressure signs do you stop at?

Crony is best, safest way to develop loads that there is I believe, watch load increase increments, stop when you hit that unusual increase, or maybe even decrease. Works great as velocity increases as good indications of pressures. mmman20

    Blackhorn problems

Three years ago I resigned from my last deer lease. A lease where we hunted mostly with muzzleloader. I bought a 5# keg of Blackhorn just before I left and it’s been sitting in my loading room for 3 years. Tried to use it on a new CVA Accura rifle, hangfire, misfire, backfire, everything but...

Caliber size or Velocity and Energy?

Shooters all have individual personalities, thank goodness. Shoot whatever you’re comfortable with.

Caliber size or Velocity and Energy?

True, but also many of his elephants were taken with a Mannlicher carbine in 6.5X54... Both calibers killed many 1000 elephants for WDM Belll...

Caliber size or Velocity and Energy?

It's simply an "American" thing. since WWI and the original 30 cal US ARMY rifle and cartridge the 30 caliber has been the darling of the American hunter. WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, all were fought with 30 Caliber American weapons. of course the 5.56 came out for Vietnam for the original M14 was...

Barnes > Nosler for BC Inflation? 145 Match Burner 6.5mm

Do not have any bc calculating equipment, but I do shoot daily. All 6.5 rifles no a 500 yard range here at home. The thing I do see is that with 100 or 200 yard zeros I have less drop past 300 yards from my 1:7 twist 6.5 barrels than from either 1:8 or 1:8.5 barrels. These are all 6.5 Creedmore...
