    Injured and out

So I had a little wreck on my dirt bike and now in recovery hell. Not sure why I feel the desire to post, maybe give me a distraction to pass time. I don't know what happened, memory has been blocked, pain replaces the comfort of normal life, and here we are. We started a normal quick rip on...

    Leupold Scope Warranty Service

Do a box or tall target test. Might as well verify. Most people never do it, but your tracking down a problem.

    Leupold Scope Warranty Service

Yeah, to have some one off issues, seems normal. Someone who has issues with all their stuff….. definitely can’t ignore the fact there will be failures if enough product is on the market. I won’t vortex as general rule due to my experience with failure rate. I can see someone having that...

    Leupold Scope Warranty Service

Mine was less than that but still a while. I think it was 5. Their excuse was getting behind when the shop shut down due to a flood or something. Not ideal for anyone but they took care of me and I am grateful. I’m pretty sure the scope issue was my fault when I fell on it. It was a very hard...

    Carbon barrel load development

A bad barrel is a bad barrel and it causes a lot of frustration and wasted time. Financially the steel barrel failure is less of a problem but still a problem. If people are shooting cf like they do steel, ie comp, practice etc then I think it could be big deal. I think most people will have a...

    Carbon barrel load development

You can have a bad barrel in any configuration. I’ve dealt with 2 mcgowens and a shillen. Neighbor has a lilja that is bad. It happens. So there’s no benefit to a bad barrel period. Those barrels didn’t stop me from buying them, issues were dealt with, moved on.

    Carbon barrel load development

I have 7 cf barrels and all shoot exceptionally well. I recall a local smith had 1 cf barrel that was bad, he always claimed all proof barrels were sh!t after that. No doubt there are lemons, but the benefits far outweight the cons with cf when it comes to hunters

    Carbon barrel load development

I haven't had any issues, YET, with a carbon. Mine have all been really easy to tune and generally have a wide harmonic node. If I experienced what you are, I'd be scope that barrel or sending it back.

    Revic or Leica 3200 ?

Glass is subjective to the user. The difference in the leica vs the Swaro EL is generally not worth the waste of energy to argue. I do prefer the EL glass to my leica but the difference is so subtle I have to go back and forth and be extremely picky. The leica program is also not where it should...

I Know This Is LRH... But What Is The Shortest Distance You Have Taken A Live Target?

With a gun on a unsuspecting game animal, I shot a wolf at 20 feet, that is my most memorable since I had a entire pack around me. I have touched deer and elk bow hunting but my closest bow kill was 3 yards, mule deer.

    Revic or Leica 3200 ?

Link to kestrel. It Bluetooth connects and runs off the ab solution, which is sent back to your Leica display. I have used several times but don’t generally need it. The Leica pro has a different set up and gives solutions further which something I’ve considered to not pack the kestrel. I rarely...

    Revic or Leica 3200 ?

Your 32’s should link. Mine do. The ballistic program is basic for sure but it’s good data if you just add your own data into the mix. For example knowing sd, ce, and wind factors….. I’ve killed a pile of yotes and wolfs from 500 - 900. Past that I’ve used the kestrel but usually just switch to...

    Revic or Leica 3200 ?

That’s the key…. Glass need. If you need good glass the Leica is hard to beat overall. If glass is not that important to you then other options are worth the look. It really depends on how much time you spend behind the glass and realistic range you can effectively make kills. For me the Leica...

    Revic or Leica 3200 ?

Do you think it’ll be easier to use? I think it has more user specific features for set up but not sure it’ll be easier per say. Leica seems super easy. I’ve read glass is so so on the revic.
